Owner-Dog Look Alike Contest

Yes, you've noticed the resemblance ... maybe friends and family tell you that you and your dog look alike!

Best Friends? Yes! Twins? Maybe! Here's your chance to showcase you & your dog, and win some neat prizes in the process!

Dress alike, or just come and pose for a dual "mug shot" for your chance to win a bragging right's trophy and some neat prizes for both you and your 4-legged canine best friend. Brought to you by "DOWNTOWN LIVE", register at the registration tables until 10am...judging begins at 10:15am.

After this contest, you'll still have time to compete in the Pooch Parade & Dog Costume Contest at 11am, and see (or participate with your purebred dachshund) in the wiener dog races at high noon! Entry donation is just $10. All proceeds go to the kids from our region battling cancer, in cooperation with Cabell-Huntington Hospital's Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center's Pediatric Oncology Program...so tell all your dog-loving friends to come out with you and have a ball, win some prizes and bragging' rights, and help kids in our region!

Costumed or not, walk your dog in the Pooch Parade. Or entice your Dachshund to dash across the finish line in the Wiener Dog Races. Perhaps you'l want to do both! Entry donations: $10 for Wiener Dog Races, and $10 for the Pooch Parade. Donations benefit the childrens' cancer unit at the Edwards' Comprehensive Cancer Center, giving kids a fighting chance against cancer. Check in at the registration table. Parade: Any dog can be shown; but only costumed dogs compete for prizes in the contest. Race: 10 qualifying heats of 10 Dachshunds each, then the $100 Dachshund Dash to determine the overall winner.

Judges' decision is final. Dogs must be leashed, vaccinated, healthy and tame. No more than two dogs per handlers, please.
