The brain child of John Mandt, Jr. of Stewarts Original Hot Dogs, John came to the Clear Channel Radio group’s VP/GM, Judy Cornett, and group Marketing Consultant, Kym York-Blake to build, promote, manage and execute this soon to be annual festival.

The last Saturday in July was chosen for each year’s festival (July IS national hot dog month, you know!) The three co-founders wanted a charity that would benefit children in the Tri-State region.

Through partnership with Cabell-Huntington Hospital, all proceeds from the annual WV Hot Dog Festival now benefit the childrens' cancer unit at the Edwards' Comprehensive Cancer Center.

On July 30, 2005, the WV Hot Dog Festival was born. The festival raised almost $8000 the first year for the kids. In 2006, the event’s sponsors and contest participants helped raise just over $10,000! In 2007, with YOUR HELP and GENEROSITY, we raised almost $18,000! THANKS TO YOU!

To do this, we need your help. If you are a business owner, please consider helping sponsor this event, or by giving a tax deductible donation. If you are a family or individual, please plan to attend (bring the kids and the family dog too), participate in the contests, buy a souvenir t-shirt, and enjoy the entire day…and make a donation to the WV Hot Dog Festival before and/or during the event.

Your donation is so very appreciated, and is used to comfort the children and their families throughout the treatments they must endure to get well.

See you Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Pullman Square, 10a-6p, in downtown Huntington, WV, as Clear Channel Radio Group of the Tri-State presents the 3rd Annual WV Hot Dog Festival!

Tell all your friends! Together we can make a difference.
